Lineup and first impression

Xiaomi YU7 occupies an intermediate niche between compact models and business-class sedans. The model is offered in three trims — YU7, YU7 Pro and YU7 Max — so you can choose the configuration that best matches your needs.

In one of its key versions, Xiaomi YU7 Pro uses a 2.0 L turbocharged engine with rear-wheel drive and around 190 hp. Combined-cycle fuel consumption is about 6.8 L/100 km and 0–100 km/h takes around 7.9 s, putting it in the same league as sedans like Hyundai Sonata and Kia K5.

The first impression is about dynamics: sporty proportions, a low hood, a fast roofline and a wide rear spoiler. A restrained yet expressive design is emphasized by precisely sculpted headlights and chrome accents.

Design and interior

The cabin is finished in dark tones with aluminum accents. The rear bench is designed for three passengers and features a central armrest section with cup holders. A 12.3-inch touch-screen multimedia system and a fully digital instrument cluster form the tech-focused cockpit.

Depending on trim, soft-touch plastics, fabric and leatherette are used in the interior. Highlights include:

• three-zone climate control;
• power-adjustable seats with driver memory function;
• wireless charging and two USB-C ports for rear passengers;
• a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade.

Dimensions: length — 4,800 mm, width — 1,850 mm, height — 1,450 mm, ground clearance — 150 mm. Luggage capacity is 510 L, or up to around 1,250 L with the rear seats folded.

New technologies in YU7 Max

The YU7 Max version is equipped with a hybrid powertrain: a 1.5 L petrol engine works together with an electric motor on the rear axle. Combined system output is about 210 hp.

The electric-only range reaches up to approximately 70 km. The 18 kWh battery can be charged from a regular household socket in about 6 hours, or up to 80% in around 45 minutes using fast charging. The transmission is a step-less unit, and drive is to all four wheels.

YU7 Max also offers advanced driver assistance: adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function in traffic, lane-keeping assistance and traffic sign recognition. A parking assistant with 360° cameras makes tight city maneuvers easier.

Safety and who it is for

All versions of Xiaomi YU7 have achieved a five-star rating under the C-NCAP protocol for adult occupant protection. Standard equipment includes six airbags, ESP, ABS, an emergency braking system and blind-spot monitoring.

Available options include reverse-driving assistance, driver fatigue monitoring and lane departure warning. Taken together, these systems support the driver and add confidence on every trip.

Xiaomi YU7 is a strong choice if you want a spacious, high-tech car for both city use and long-distance journeys. The Pro version will appeal to fans of dynamic driving, while the Max suits those who value efficiency and lower emissions without sacrificing power.
